SISTER BAY, WI. — last updated 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 30th, 2019.
In light of recent efforts to preserve the property, leaders from the Door County Land Trust and the Village of Sister Bay held a closed-door meeting with a “secret committee” dedicated to making Pebble Beach Door County’s first nude beach.
Inside sources informed The DoBros. the meeting was held last night at Fred and Fuzzy’s Waterfront Bar and Grill. As the sun was setting, the committee consisting of elite members from the Door County community was closing a deal with leaders of the Land Trust and Village of Sister Bay.

After a few cherry margaritas, the deal was put forth into motion.
“Though it may come as a surprise now, this was an opportunity that had been discussed during the initial stages of the property buyout.” an anonymous source claiming to be the committee spokesperson told us.
“In order to ensure the beach would truly be open to the public, we added a nudist-clause within the contract. We’ve seen too many of our community beaches lost to private interests and feared it could happen to Pebble Beach too.”
The Village of Sister Bay’s spokesperson also noted:
“Despite the rise in tourist turnout these past few years, we are noticing a decline in younger visitors. We believe this initiative will help attract a younger, more vibrant crowd to our little village.”
The so-called “secret committee” has allegedly provided a majority of the funding necessary to purchase the property. As a result, the Land Trust had no choice but to include the nudist-clause within the fine print of the contract.
“There’s no doubt that this was a controversial decision.”, the Land Trust spokesperson explained. “But we were quite literally caught between a rock and a hard place. We could either hope for additional funding to come in while risking the loss of the property to private developers, or we could accept the donation with the promise of making the property a nude beach.”
Community’s calls to protect Pebble Beach answered.
Though the implications of this historic decision are still uncertain, the fact remains that Pebble Beach is now protected— forever. The efforts of the “secret committee”, the Door County Land Trust, and the Village of Sister Bay to protect the beach are a true testament to the preservation of our community values.

Today marks a historic “new-d” beginning for Pebble Beach and the Peninsula as a whole.
